International Ceramics Fair Oldenburg
Ceramics, art and artists – in August this year the 36th International Ceramics Fair will take place in Oldenburg. About 120 ceramics artists from twelve different countries will show their mastery at the ceramics market at Oldenburg castle.
Unique art, functional pieces, design ceramics, decoration and pottery for the garden are on display and waiting for an ceramics enthusiast to buy them.
A lot to discover at the International Ceramics Fair Oldenburg
Special exhibits, artists showcases and presentation of professional prizes will entertain you and leave you in amazement about the art of ceramics. The exhibition „brandnew – brandneu“, shows up to date works of the artists oft the fair as well as the exhibition „The beauty of structure“ with objects created by the netherlandish artist Beatrijs van Rheeden are on display in the castle.
A look behind the creative scenes
Before the fair starts, on August the 3rd 2018, visitors can participate in the „Ceramic Portrait“-workshop. This year the award winning ceramics artist Ann Van Hoey from Belgium and newcomer Keith Varney from Great Britain will show you how they create their pieces and share stories of their carreer paths.
Van Hoey is known for her clear, geometrical Shapes. Varney impresses also with geometrical structure and a distinctive groove pattern. The „Ceramic Portrait“-workshop takes place from 10 to 5 o‘ clock. The ticket fee is 60 Euro.
